Alighted's latest EP finds the artist in a new space. Each of the four tracks on "Boyhood" are a response to his recent relocation to the Adirondacks from California, a move that brought a welcome return to the slower paced life that had characterized his childhood growing up in rural Ohio. The Adirondacks are not unfamiliar to Macionis, who visited the state park with his family every summer as a kid. Many of his formative years were spent exploring thick forests, splashing in lakes and rivers, and feeling the breeze from the back of a boat. His cross-country move was more than a relocation, it was a homecoming.
